Obesity, asthma, autism spectrum disorders, childhood diabetes. These and other chronic conditions are at an all-time high. At the same time, millions of kids are without health insurance. Something needs to be done.
By partnering with pediatricians, state health officials and community health organizations, the Minnesota Academy of Pediatrics Foundation is working to improve the health of every child in Minnesota.
Currently the Foundation is participating in projects aimed at reducing childhood and teen obesity, increasing access to child and teen mental health experts and improving pediatric oral health. It is also supporting initiatives that promote universal health insurance for children, universal newborn screening and universal immunizations for children.
