Medical Director, Children’s Minnesota Hospital Medicine Program

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a Medical Director to join Children’s Hospital Medicine Program. The Medical Director role at Children’s has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through the department or service line are patient and family focused, clinically appropriate, operationally efficient, and achieve effective patient outcomes. The focus of the Medical Director's administrative time will be spent developing and providing direction for the program (clinical services, clinical research, and education), including quality and safety leadership and improvement. Partners with administrative dyad partner for financial and administrative management of the service line. The role will coordinate clinicians associated with the department or service line, clinician consultants, and leaders of associated programs or units. The role will also monitor and support the clinical skills and involvement of professional staff associated with the department or service line and will increase or expand those resources as appropriate to meet current and future needs.

We are actively recruiting exceptional board-certified pediatricians to join our growing pediatric care teams at HealthPartners primary care clinics in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro.  These positions can be part-time or full-time, working up to 36 patient contact hours per week.  Responsibilities include hospital newborn nursery, care of acute and chronic conditions, and comprehensive preventative care for children from birth to adulthood. We use the Epic EMR system in all of our primary care clinics, specialty care clinics, and admitting hospitals.

Pediatric Hospital Moonlighting Opportunity - Children's Minnesota

Overview:
The Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Children’s Minnesota is seeking physicians (pediatric backgrounds) who would be interested in providing pediatric Hem/Onc overnight (Moonlighting) coverage.

To better serve our patients during the overnight hours, Children’s has made the decision to staff physicians on-campus 24/7. To implement this exciting care model a pool of moonlighters need to be hired. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the largest pediatric hem/onc provider in the region and care for the most amazing people on earth.

Shifts:

  • 7 PM – 7 AM Mon-Fri, 5 PM – 8 AM Sat-Sun.
  • Open scheduling available: No minimum or maximum shifts per month.
  • A backup staff MD is available for questions all hours.
  • Face-to-face sign-in with hem/onc team at the beginning of the shift and sign-out at end of shift.

Who we are looking for:

We are open to physicians with any pediatric background interested in providing pediatric hem/onc care. Non hem/onc trained physicians would participate in a well planned training program to build the foundational skills needed for the role. Current Pediatric hem/onc fellows are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Active Minnesota M.D. or D.O. medical license or eligibility.
  • Board eligible/certified in pediatrics.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • Children’s Minnesota Hospital privileges or ability to obtain privileges.

Northern Lights Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine is a privately-owned, six-physician pediatric practice that has been serving the community since 1980 with offices located in Vadnais Heights and Hugo, MN.  Due to physician retirements, we are seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatrician to work at both locations and to join the physician rotation for the on-call schedule and rounding on newborns at St John’s Hospital.  C-section attendance is not required.
